Looking ahead and behind, holding the lamp to probe the abyss. Present reality is the condensation of the past. The potential of the future awaits the clarity or obscurity of the heart-mind. Attachment stiffens; breaking through barriers brings forth life. Holding to form is not stagnation—what matters is ceaseless arising. Amidst the complexity of variables, seek the utmost simplicity. The pivot’s essence must set two paths. Amidst countless divergences, open three doors. When blemishes and stains appear, remove them—do not let them linger. The essence of the Way is not the attainment of perfection, but constant choice. Tolerance of error is not weakness—it preserves room to turn. Therefore, leave blank space within time’s flow; carve alternate paths within heaven and earth; preserve myriad possibilities beyond the measuring scale. As long as the root does not perish, all Dharma returns to its source.
